In Pula, Croatia, the 5th Adriatic Maritime Law was held from 26 to 28 May 2022, which gathered 60 participants from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Malta and Montenegro.
After the joint opening of the meeting of the presidents of the three Maritime Law Associations, co-organizers of the conference – Prof. Dr. Gordan Stanković, Avv. Giorgio Berlingieri and Dr. Boris Jerman, the opening part of the conference was dedicated to the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Francesco Berlingieri.
At the conference, which brought together experts in the field of maritime law, many current topics were discussed: the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial aid to the transportation sector, devised and implemented by the EU and member states, the repercussions of Brexit on EU maritime and transport law, the EU’s impact on further development of maritime and transport law, passenger rights in maritime and transport law, legal aspects of new digital technologies in maritime transport and sustainable development and Green Deal in the shipping industry – protection of the marine environment in the Adriatic region.
